Coseley’s Halliwell funeral home unveils major makeover

Halliwell Funeral Service’s Coseley branch has undergone an extensive refurbishment programme to create a peaceful and uplifting environment for the benefit of local families.

The building in Castle Street was closed for three weeks while the interior was renovated. A completely redesigned layout provides new facilities and modern furnishings.

The office has been tastefully redecorated throughout with a fresh cream colour scheme, new carpets, oak furniture, lighting and paintings to produce a welcoming, tranquil atmosphere.

A new-look chapel of rest now has an inspiring, ornamental centrepiece and comfortable seating. The remodelled reception area has been fitted out with more seats, and there is also a quiet family room where funeral arrangements can be discussed in private.

Other significant improvements include the installation of a mortuary, disabled toilet facilities and a disability ramp, along with a wider entrance at the back to allow easy access for wheelchairs.

Halliwell funeral director Yvonne Harper, who is based at the Coseley branch, said: “The facilities we have now are so much better than before, particularly for families who want to spend some time with their loved one before the funeral.

“I’m delighted with the finished look and really proud of it. We keep the blinds open generally as it’s such a welcoming environment. Many people have felt compelled to have a look around and we have had such encouraging feedback.”
