Halliwell Pre-payment Bonds

Pre-payment and pre-arrangement funeral options help you to plan ahead

Pre-Payment-Bonds-Services

The typical cost of a funeral in the UK is rising all the time, due to inflation. In 2004, it was £1,821. Ten years later that figure had gone up to £3,052. By 2024, the estimate is £4,283.

If you’ve decided what kind of service you would like by filling in our Funeral Wishes form, you can shield yourself from these increases by opting for one of our pre-payment bonds. This allows you to fix the cost of your funeral at today’s prices, and gives you peace of mind that when the time comes your family won’t be burdened with expense as well as added stress.

Our charges are in line with the average cost of a standard ‘no frills’ funeral, which includes bringing the deceased into our care, the provision of a hearse, one car for the mourners and a cremation coffin. We will also pay the fees associated with the service.

However, there will be additional charges if, for example, you would like more funeral vehicles, or you have requested catering.

With pre-payment bonds, you can either pay in full for the funeral, or in 12 monthly instalments. Even if the service isn’t held for years, the price will stay the same.

You can also choose to make a pre-arrangement with Halliwell. This allows you to arrange the details of your funeral in advance, but payment is deferred until the funeral takes place. All your wishes will be carried out, but the cost will not be fixed.

Neither pre-payment, nor pre-arrangement exclude family and friends from the planning of the service. It has to be a fitting tribute that takes into consideration the thoughts and feelings of everyone concerned, not just the person whose life is being celebrated.

The above options also apply to our bespoke services. These include choosing personalised coffins and unusual features such as motorcycle hearses. Please note that flowers, eulogies/obituaries and service sheets cannot be pre-purchased from Halliwell. Burial plots must be obtained via the relevant council or diocese.

To fulfil our obligations to customers, all money pre-paid to us for funerals is invested in individual whole of life policies.

For more information about pre-payment and pre-arrangement options please call your local Halliwell funeral home.
